AL East Preview

Wednesday, March 30th, 2011
  • New York Yankees
  • Tampa Bay Rays
  • Boston Red Sox
  • Toronto Blue Jays
  • Baltimore Orioles

The division with the greatest potential for a shakeup for the 2011 MB season has to be the AL. For years it was the Yankees who ran the table, with the Red Sox getting in their shots as well. Then came the Tampa Bay Rays and their improbable run at the World Series in 2008. 2010 saw the Rays make it to the post-season again, however they lost a lot of big names during the off-season. They still have the potential to be a force, but there are a lot of baseball fans wondering if the Orioles or Blue Jays are ready to make a jump. Both the Orioles and the Jays have been stockpiling talent, and as their players know what it takes to compete in the AL East, they will not be intimidated by the Red Sox, Yankees, or anyone else! The Yankees have plenty of question as far as pitching, and many a Yankee hater is wondering if this is the year Derek Jeter and Mariano Rivera start to show their age. You know these Yankees aren’t going down without a fight, but in 2011 the AL East will give us a first hand look at the battle between youth and experience. Expect to see a lot of high scoring games in the AL East this year, because all the teams can score.

And then you have the Boston Red Sox, who are enjoying the first fantastic off-season since the team acquired Josh Beckett in 2007. With one of the tough rotations in baseball led by Jon Lester, expect some great games out of the BoSox. And lets not forget about their lineup! The Red Sox managed to stay one of the the highest scoring teams last year, even though the team was ravaged by injuries. In 2011 they have the same lineup, except that Adrian Gonzalez and Carl Crawford have joined in. Paired with a healthy Jacoby Ellsbury, Kevin Youkilis and Dustin Pedroia, this team could do some offensive damage for sure. And that not even mentioning David Ortiz and JD Drew, who are still among the toughest outs in the game. Yes the Red Sox are a popular pick to win the East this year, but theres plenty of baseball to be played. Stock up on baseball tickets right now because the AL East is looking to be as fun as ever.

NL East preview

Tuesday, March 29th, 2011
  • Philadelphia Phillies
  • Atlanta Braves
  • Florida Marlins
  • New York Mets
  • Washington Nationals

Most baseball observers are ready top give the Phillies another NL East crown, with the best team in the division adding among the best pitchers in the league to what was already a tough rotation. With Cliff Lee joining Roy Halladay, Cole Hamels, and Roy Oswalt, you know that there aren’t many hitters eager to play the Phillies. But before the Phillies starting printing World Series tickets, they need to get through a long season. A number of their best players are facing questions regarding durability and performance, none more so that Chase Utley and Jimmy Rollins. Should either go down for an extended period, the bat of Ryan Howard will once again need to do a lot of the heavy lifting. Especially with Jason Werth bolting for the free-agent payload of Washington.

If their is one hitter in the division that can take the Phillies rotation down a peg its Jason Heyward on the Atlanta Braves. Hayward lived up to the hype, and now he will have to avoid a sophomore slump that so often hits second year players. The Braves have their own hole to fill, and that is at the top of the lineup card, where the manager goes. This is the first time Bobby Cox will not be at the helm in a generation, so there will be some adjustment for sure. But the Braves have a smart front office that has managed to put a competitive team on the field the past decade.

The Marlins, Mets and Nationals could either be very competitive, or very bad. Neither on would surprise cheap baseball tickets.net, but being good would be bit more surprising. The Marlins should be able to compete with anyone, as they have a tough starting rotation led by Josh Johnson. They also have Hanley Ramirez ready to rock and roll. The Nationals have the potential to be a fiesty bunch, although the loss of Stephen Strasburg to Tommy Johns surgery didn’t do them any favors.

And that leaves the Mets… They say you have to hit rock bottom before you get better, and perhaps coming in last in the division is the floor the Mets need to hit before the new generation can take over. They do have some fantastic players, Johan Santana and David Wright right up there, but do they have the full roster needed to compete in one of the toughest divisions in baseball? Clubs are already calling for Jose Reyes, and Carlos Beltran could draw nice offers from teams desperate for a veteran bat. And lets not forget about Francisco Rodriguez, who was the most coveted free agent closer in years just last year. This team has a lot of talent, but a lot of question marks too. Only time will tell if the Mets can compete in their current makeup, or if they need to hit rock bottom before they can compete once again.

Al Central ticket preview

Monday, March 28th, 2011
  • Detroit Tigers
  • Minnesota Twins
  • Chicago White Sox
  • Cleveland Indians
  • Kansas City Royals

The AL Central has been among the most competitive divisions for the past decade. And it looks like baseball fans in the midwest can look forward to another three way dog race to the finish. The Twins have ben the division winner in the pest, but its always been close. The Chicago White Sox made some moves, and so did the Detroit Tigers. Matched with the Twins duo of Joe Mauer and Justin Morneau, the Twins could be in for a tough battle this year. The rotations of both the White Sox and the Tigers has some great arms, and all three teams at the top have a potent lineup more than capable of an offensive explosion.

Baseball tickets are going to be a hot commodity in the midwest this summer, and if the Cleveland Indians and Kansas City Royals make any noise its gonna get crazy. The Indians have some of the most eclectic players in the bigs, with Chi So Choo and Asdrubal Cabrera leading the pack. And if Fausto Carmona can regain the form that led him to win 20 games and best both Cliff Lee and CC Sabathia, they could end up surprising most baseball onlookers. The only bigger surprise would be the Royals competing. They traded away their ace a year early, so it looks like their front office is waiting at least a year to “go for it.” But they have professional players just like anyone, and they could at least make an interesting race even more so.

NL Central preview

Saturday, March 26th, 2011
  • Cincinnati Reds
  • St Louis Cardinals
  • Chicago Cubs
  • Houston Astros
  • Pittsburgh Pirates
  • Milwaukee Brewers

As the only division in baseball with six teams, the NL Central is normally a tough place to win. Then again, two of those teams are the Pittsburgh Pirates and Houston Astros. The favorites to win the NL Central right is probably a three-way tie between St Louis Cardinals, Milwaukee Brewers and the Cincinnati Reds. The Reds, led by some great young talent, ended up being the best in division, if not the NL, last year. But they’ll face a tough field intent on making gone last run. The Cardinals will be hoping to make the most of what could be the last year with Albert Pujols in the lineup. And the Brewers have gone all in again, trading away a a fair share of their prospects to acquire Zach Greinke. They’ve been a sneaky-good team for awhile, and if they play to their abilities could end up making the post-season for the first time since CC Sabathia threw the team on his back.

And the Astros and the Pirates… Well they have some very promising young stars, but what else is new. Both teams have a long way to go before they can think about asking the playoffs again, but the young stars is a good place to start.

AL West Preview

Friday, March 25th, 2011
  • Texas Rangers
  • LA Angels
  • Oakland Athletics
  • Seattle Mariners

As competitive as the NL West, the AL West was not. Baseball fans were happy to see that the Texas Rangers were able to grab the division title from the Angels, who had been the AL West Champs for most of the decade. If you bought Rangers baseball tickets last year you are likely still smarting from the defeat in the World Series to the San Francisco Giants. Even though the Rangers lost Cliff Lee to free agency, they still have the talent to repeat as AL Champs. Lefty CJ Wilson has the stuff to anchor a tough rotation, and we all know that Texas can hit the ball. A lot of how the Rangers play this year will be determined by the rest of the division, which once again looks to be a bit weaker than the rest of the potent AL. The Angels whiffed on acquiring Carl Crawford a year after loosing John Lackey. They best the Angels front office could manage was Vernon Wells, who had a disappointing 2010. But Wells has been among the most feared hitters in the league in the past, and if he can regain his swing, he can help Torii Hunter and the rest of the Angels get back to the playoffs.

One team that could end up benefiting from the lack of depth in the division are the Oakland Athletics. They have been consistent the past few years, and if some of their younger players make the leap they could be a force. Perfect Game Dallas Braden has started to look like an ace, and the rest of the young team might be ready to breakout. That leave the Seattle Mariners, who are a year older. The Mariners were supposed to compete for the division crown last year, but between Milton Bradley’s continuing escapades and some losses to the pitching staff, the Mariners underwhelmed last year. If a few pieces fall into place the Mariners could be a dark-horse threat to make the playoffs. They have one of the best pitchers in the game in Felix Hernandez, and with Ichiro and Chone Figgins in the lineup, they could end up surprising more than one baseball fan this year.

    NL West preview

    Thursday, March 24th, 2011
    • San Francisco Giants
    • San Diego Padres
    • Los Angeles Dodgers
    • Colorado Rockies
    • Arizona Diamondbacks

Last year the NL West was the closest race, with three of the five teams a game way from making the post season. After leading the NL West division for most of the year, the San Diego Padres faltered the last week of the season and let the eventual World Series Champion San Francisco Giants win the division. With Mat Latos as their ace, the Padres will again be competitive. But they lost their biggest bat Adrian Gonzalez to the Boston Red Sox. The Pads will certainly miss Gonzo, but GM Jed Hoyer got some nice pieces in return, and the Pads could very well end up surprising their fans again. The knock on the Giants all last season was that they couldn’t hit. Well that didn’t seem to be an issue in their win over the Teas Rangers in the World Series, but we will see if they can keep it up this year.

    Tim Lincecum pitching

Can Tim Lincecum get the Giants back to the World Series? Get your tickets now and see the action.

The favorites to win the NL West have to be the Colorado Rockies, who have two of the best players in the NL ready to go. Between Troy Tulowitzki and Ubaldo Jimenez, the Rockies will be able to compete with the best teams in the league. As much as everyone wants to write-off the Los Angeles Dodgers because of their ownership issues, they have some talented on the roster. New manager Don Mattingly has been looking for a chance to manage a major league team for years, and now is his chance to show his prowess. And you can be sure that Los Angeles Dodgers tickets are going to be hot this year, especially if the Dodgers start winning. And finally the Arizona Diamondbacks are in the middle of rebuilding their team. Hey have a solid core and their players have shown they can work hard. Cheapbaseballtickets.net thinks the Diamondbacks have what it takes to compete for the NL West title, but they’ll have to get past the Rockies if they hope to be in the playoffs come October.

Looking for cheap baseball tickets for the playoffs?

    Thursday, September 30th, 2010

This is the time when cheap baseball tickets are at their highest demand, with the playoffs getting ready to go. Lots of teams came out swinging this season, and they are looking for a shot at the World Series. Trying to get your hands on cheap baseball tickets for the playoffs this year is something baseball fans all over want to get into the show. If you can get a MLB playoff ticket from Ticket Liquidator you will see a great deal of action so be sure to check out the fun. Lots of good hitters and pitchers want to check out the fun so be there if you can. And of course if you can get some World Series tickets online, well then you are really in for a historic night of post-season baseball. But before we get to the Fall Classic, lets take a look at the post-season matchup.

The American League Division Series sees the Tampa Bay Rays vs the Texas Rangers and the New York Yankees vs the Minnesota Twins. There isn’t one team that stands out of the pack, and each one has its question marks. Evan Longoria just called out the Rays fans for not buying tickets and making some noise at the Tropicana. So, make Evan and the rest of the Rays happy and buy a Rays playoff tickets and make some noise. They’ll be taking on Texas baseball, featuring Cliff Lee and Josh Hamilton. You gotta buy Texas Rangers tickets immediately as they won’t be around long. The better team will move on to the second round of the playoffs, and their fans will want to get ALCS tickets for sure, as their team will be playing for the chance to get into the 2010 World Series.

The other ALDS matchup sees the defending champs, the Bronx Bombers, take on the Twins, a team they routinely see in the ALDS. So yes, a Yankees Twins ALDS is nothing new, but what is new is that the teams looks a lot more even than they have in recent years. Yes, the Yankees have staff ace CC Sabathia to take the ball, but after that there is quite a dropoff. Who follows Sabathia is up in the air, but right now it looks like it’ll be Andy Pettitte and Phil Hughes, although AJ Burnett is in the mix as well. Regardless of who pitches, Yankee tickets for sure, hoping the Yankees can complete their post-season domination of the Twins. The thing is that the Twins have a new stadium, Target Field, and 2010 is the first time there’ll be October baseball outside in Minnesota. Those MN Twins tickets are going as fast as baseball fans in Minneapolis can buy them. It should be a very competitive ALDS, and its going to be great to see who comes out on top.

Then in the National League Division Series, its the Philadelphia Phillies vs the Cincinnati Reds and the San Francisco Giants vs the Atlanta Braves. The Phightin Phils are trying to get to the Series for the third time in a row. They have the best starting rotation in baseball, with Roy Halladay, Roy Oswalt and Cole Hamels forming one of the most formidable staffs in the bigs. They have a great chance to get back to Phillies NLCS tickets again, and in fact they could very well win the whole thing. But Cincinnati has been good too, with Joey Votto hitting the ball all over. They have been buying Reds tickets all over the place to get into the Great American Ballpark for the playoff fun. October baseball is a fantastic thing to behold, especially when your team hasn’t made it to the playoffs in a while.

The other NLCS matchup, the Giants vs the Braves, is one that will raise a lot of eyeballs. With Tim Lincecum and Matt Cain leading a great staff, they have the pitching to hand with anyone. But they need to gets the bat going, and while Aubrey Huff has been great, Pablo “Kung Fu Panda” Sandoval has to pick it up. San Francisco has some great baseball fans who are buying San Francisco Giants tickets like crazy. Down in Atlanta, long-time skipper Bobby Cox will be retiring this year, so fans and players are eager to send him into the sunset as the World Series champ. They are scooping up Atlanta Braves tickets left and right outside of Turner Field, and if you are a fan you owe it to yourself to watch the Braves in the playoffs. And while they are not in yet, they could also end up selling Padres tickets, but right now the Pads are on the outside looking in.

The greatest sports playoffs is gearing up right now, and cheap baseball tickets are all the rage. If the team you like has gotten to the playoffs, what are you waiting for! Get your tickets right away so that you don’t miss a minute of the fun.

    Sunday, April 4th, 2010

I’ve found that Ticket Liquidator is the best place to find reasonable prices for MLB tickets. LA Dodgers add “Mannywood Section” to Dodger Stadium

    Wednesday, May 6th, 2009

Its been a crazy baseball season so far and we’ve seen some great games so far. You know that anytime you buy cheap baseball tickets you are going to be in for a very good time, but the 2009 MLB Season seems to have even more action that normal. So far the surprise of the season is the Toronto Blue Jays, leading the toughest division in sports ahead of the Yankees, Red Sox and Rays. We will see how long the Birds can keep it up, but better yet would be to buy your own baseball tickets and see for yourself.

The big news during the baseball off-season was whether Manny Ramirez would sign with the LA Dodgers. Well he did, and now the club has found a way to make a few dollars of Manny as well as his post in left field. The Dodgers have announced that they will be selling Mannywood tickets as a special section that is right near Manny’s spot in left field. The field-level seats are on the fair side of the foul pole, pretty much the closests seats to Manny since you could watch him from Fenway’s Green Monster Seats.
