- Detroit Tigers
- Minnesota Twins
- Chicago White Sox
- Cleveland Indians
- Kansas City Royals
The AL Central has been among the most competitive divisions for the past decade. And it looks like baseball fans in the midwest can look forward to another three way dog race to the finish. The Twins have ben the division winner in the pest, but its always been close. The Chicago White Sox made some moves, and so did the Detroit Tigers. Matched with the Twins duo of Joe Mauer and Justin Morneau, the Twins could be in for a tough battle this year. The rotations of both the White Sox and the Tigers has some great arms, and all three teams at the top have a potent lineup more than capable of an offensive explosion.
Baseball tickets are going to be a hot commodity in the midwest this summer, and if the Cleveland Indians and Kansas City Royals make any noise its gonna get crazy. The Indians have some of the most eclectic players in the bigs, with Chi So Choo and Asdrubal Cabrera leading the pack. And if Fausto Carmona can regain the form that led him to win 20 games and best both Cliff Lee and CC Sabathia, they could end up surprising most baseball onlookers. The only bigger surprise would be the Royals competing. They traded away their ace a year early, so it looks like their front office is waiting at least a year to “go for it.” But they have professional players just like anyone, and they could at least make an interesting race even more so.
